The BOPPPS arc, holding up every lesson you make.
Bridge-in, Outcomes, Pre-assessment, Participatory learning, Post-assessment, Summary. It’s a complete arc, which is exactly why building it out for every session takes time you rarely have. BOPPPS was the starting point for CARL’s structure, so that full arc is already under every lesson you generate.
The whole arc, already drafted
Every lesson you make carries the six moves:
Bridge-in
the everyday hooks that connect the session to something your learners already know.
Outcomes
the learning goal, stated plainly up front.
Pre-assessment
the opening activation and the early warm-up check that read where learners are before you teach in.
Participatory learning
the active core, where the gradual release and 5E moves do their work.
Post-assessment
the check that shows what landed.
Summary
the reflection and close that ties it off.
One real lesson, with the whole arc running through it:

A real CARL document will render here, scrollable and ready to print.
It’s the arc you’d build by hand, arriving already built.
One structure, not a costume change (the honest part)
The straight version: CARL builds every lesson on one structure, and BOPPPS was where that structure began, then we layered in the gradual release phases and leaned toward 5E for the naming. So a CARL lesson won’t print as a bare six-box BOPPPS form, but the BOPPPS arc is genuinely the spine of it. If BOPPPS is the model your program or your PD is built around, you’ll recognize all six moves in every lesson you make.

whose programs teach BOPPPS as the planning frame.
The honesty beat
AI can be wrong, sometimes confidently. Every lesson lands as an editable draft, and nothing reaches your learners without you. The arc gives you the shape; every decision inside it stays yours.
